Your Privacy Matters Pantry & Expiration Tracker is built to protect your data and keep it on your device.

1. Overview Pantry & Expiration Tracker ("the App") is developed and maintained by MD Shahariar Nazim Joy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect We collect the following types of information:

  • Pantry item data (names, quantities, expiry dates) — stored locally on your device only

  • Notification preferences — stored locally on your device

  • Subscription and purchase status — stored locally and verified with Apple/Google

  • Receipt or packaging images submitted for AI scanning — temporarily processed by our AI provider (OpenRouter/Gemini) and not retained after processing

  • Crash reports and basic analytics (if you opt in) — used only to improve stability

3. How We Use Your Information Information collected is used exclusively to:

  • Display and manage your pantry inventory within the App

  • Send local expiry notifications to your device

  • Process receipt images to extract food item data via AI

  • Verify active subscriptions to grant access to premium features

  • Diagnose and fix bugs or crashes

4. Data Storage & Security All pantry data, preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms provided by the operating system. We do not operate a backend server that stores your personal pantry information.

Receipt images submitted for scanning are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our AI processing service and are not stored, logged, or shared after the scan is complete.

5. Third-Party Services The App uses the following third-party services:

  • Apple In-App Purchase / Google Play Billing — for subscription management

  • OpenRouter / Google Gemini — for AI-powered receipt scanning

  • Expo Notifications — for local push notifications (no personal data sent)

Each third-party service is governed by its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review those policies. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third party.

6. Children's Privacy The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights You have the right to:

  • Access all data stored by the App (visible in the App itself)

  • Delete all your data by uninstalling the App

  • Opt out of notifications at any time via device Settings

  • Request information about data processing by contacting us

8. Data Retention Pantry data exists only on your device for as long as the App is installed. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data. Subscription transaction records are maintained by Apple/Google according to their respective policies.

9. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
